Alfa Developments will be exhibiting at the world’s biggest investment forum in Europe – MIPIM, which will take place in Cannes, France from 10^th to 13^th March. Alfa Developments will be one of the six Bulgarian companies who united their efforts to promote Bulgaria in such prestigious event.

“Bulgarian stand is the right action to promote our country as investment destination, moreover in difficult times for all companies, working in the real estate sector.”, said Yuri Katanov(Executive Director of Alfa Developments). “It is now the right time to present Bulgaria and Bulgarian business on this first-class fair, which is the biggest forum in the real estate sector. In a dynamic and unpredictable property market, those who stay are the most competitive, quality projects and the most successful investors”, said Mr. Katanov.

This is the first joint participation of real estate companies at MIPIM. The other five exhibitors are Benchmark REIT, Prime Property BG REIT, Yazov Ltd., Kalvacha Investments and A&T Electronics.

MIPIM is leading international fair, targeting the main players in the real estate field. The exhibition will meet participants from over 80 countries – investors, end users, developers, consultants. Among the main panel discussions will be the biggest challenges for all investors in the real estate sector in times of financial crisis.

Alfa Developments Acquires Landmark Portfolio

Alfa Developments formally notified the Commission for the Protection of Competition of its intention to acquire a 75% stake in the portfolio of Landmark’s buildings.

The seller is Bridgecorp AD, owned by Richard McDonald and Tanya Kosseva-Boshova, at present Landmark’s managers, who acquired the portfolio for 210 million euros in the biggest transaction conducted on the Bulgarian real estate market. Bridgecorp’s shareholders will continue to hold a share of 25%, and thus the professional management and development of Landmark’s projects will continue. Alfa Developments is planning to expand the portfolio with new acquisitions of assets in Bulgaria and on the Balkans.

Landmark’s portfolio encompasses 22 properties in Bulgaria and one in Turkey – with a total leasable area of 92,300 m2 and development land of 61,400 m2. Some of Landmark’s assets include office buildings in Sofia and Varna, a retail park in Plovdiv, development land, part of a golf project, and a university building in Istanbul. Some of the major tenants of the buildings are Post Bank, Nova TV, Deutsche Bank, DHL, IBM, CMS Cameron McKenna, BawMax, Deloitte, EVN, Uniqa, Alexandra Video.
